The beginnings of CPS

From 2001 to 2006 CPS was mainly developed by the Nuxeo company, and a community of contributors.

Nuxeo swith to Java

In September 2006, the Nuxeo company announced that its next version of the system would be based on Free / Libre / Open Source Java EE technologies, renamed it  Nuxeo EP (Nuxeo Enterprise Platform), under the GNU LGPL license, and that it ceased the active development of CPS, but would continue to offer support for a few years.

The first stable version of Nuxeo EP, Nuxeo EP 5.0.0.GA, was release on February 7, 2007.

After Nuxeo

CPS being a free software, its development continued, jointly by the Nuxeo company itself within the framework of its needs, and by independent or associative developers. Stable branch CPS 3.4 thus passed since September 2006 of version 3.4.2 to version 3.4.9.

In November 2008, a new development cycle was inaugurated by separation between stable branch (3.4) and trunk of development, leading to version 3.5.0 in December 2009. Version 3.5.1 is currently (August 2010) at the stage of the release candidates.

At the end of April 2010, Nuxeo SA transferred historical domain name ( to the AFUL (French speaking Libre Software Users'Association).
